The Town of Potsdam Highway Department, under the direction of Highway Superintendent John Keleher and 12 men, maintain 122 miles of town roads with the Town of Potsdam.  These responsibilities include snow removal and ice control, paving and the maintenance of roads, signage, drainage, tree and brush cutting and removal within the Town's right of way, and the disposal of non-domestic dead animals.

Within the township, all county roads are maintained by the St. Lawrence County Highway Department and all state highways are maintained by the New York State Department of Transportation.
